CUMBRIAN GETAWAY

I love winter getaways !  an air of excitement surrounds the preparations and travelling thoughts rush in and out ….how cold? how wet? how windy?  weather forecast checks….. looks good ??
time factors…. travel time…. rest time…. wake up time…  sleep time….
too exhausted to sleep….
packing dilemmas…. wet gear, warm gear, walking gear, thick wear, thin wear… enough to last the week…
self-catering week…. food supplies, bedding, linen, what the? grocery starter pack…. alcohol? of course….
up at the crack of dawn…. no before …. car loaded previous night…. gulp the hot coffee….
thermos, sambos, snacks and fruit…..away we go….

Getaway CumbriaM2… on our way… weather fine…perfect… every two hours stop – switch drivers, refuel vehicle, recharge occupants with coffee and pre-packed lunch and snacks…. and loo break…. estimated stopping time 20-25 minutes every 2 hours.

ETA ??? 7-8hrs

Arrived Keswick 1.30pm –

Keswick, Cumbria

well deserved break here – parked up and strolled around town…… recouped …. good 1 hour break…..  not far now about another hour to destination….

Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia to Polish parents, my upbringing was totally influenced by strong family values, Polish culture and customs based on Roman Catholic calendar, as well as the folkloric aspect of dressing up in regional dress and performing in Polish Folk Dancing, as well as the consumption of many home cooked Polish meals. Today, I live with my English husband in the UK, and I am a mother of two (all grown now) and grandma to one (granddaughter 5yrs). I love to travel, walk, take photos, blog, cook and spend time with my family in Australia (when I get the chance). I have a huge interest in natural medicine, which lead me to study at university in my 40's. I love exploring what this life is about, which has included reading motivational, spiritual and self-empowerment books and attending self-empowerment courses.
